Better Teambuilder is a Chrome extension that enhances the Pokemon Showdown teambuilder. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the extension accesses and how it is used.

Data Collection

Better Teambuilder does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The extension:

• Does not require user accounts or login
• Does not use analytics or tracking
• Does not use cookies
• Does not store any data outside your browser

Data Accessed Locally

The extension reads data from the Pokemon Showdown page to provide its features:

• Team data — your current team composition, Pokemon stats, EVs, IVs, and natures, as displayed in the teambuilder. This data is read from the page DOM and never leaves your browser.
• Format selection — the competitive format you have selected, used to fetch relevant usage statistics.

External Requests

The extension makes requests to the following public endpoints to provide usage statistics and Pokemon data:

• smogon.com/stats/ — public Smogon usage statistics
• play.pokemonshowdown.com/data/ — public Pokemon data (Pokedex)

These requests contain no personal information. They fetch publicly available competitive Pokemon data only.

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• scripting — to inject the extension interface into the Pokemon Showdown page
• tabs — to detect when you are on the Pokemon Showdown website
• declarativeNetRequest — to modify response headers for Smogon API requests (CORS)

Third Parties

No data is shared with third parties. The extension does not integrate with any advertising, analytics, or data brokerage services.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
